Buyers Selecting Wrong Shipping Service
Summary: jrjr24 sells sports cards and offers two shipping options on eBay: a $1.95 standard envelope for orders up to $20 and a $4.95 USPS Ground Advantage for orders over $20. The issue is that buyers can select the cheaper option even for orders over $20, creating problems when the more expensive service is required. They are seeking advice on how to automatically set the default shipping to USPS Ground Advantage for higher-value orders to avoid paying out-of-pocket for shipping costs.
I sell sports card. In my listings (e.g. 327290609815) I offer (2) types of shipping services., eBay Standard Envelope, I charge 1.95, for orders up to $20 (as controlled by standard envelope guidelines), and USPS Ground Advantage, I charge $4.95 (for orders valued over $20) and I ship in padded mailer with better packing materials. I believe buyer is given option to choose either service at checkout, so nothing to prevent buyer from choosing the lower price shipping charge, regardless of order value. Is there a way to set up default to USPS Ground Advantage when order exceeds $20? I've recently sold items in excess of $20, but buyer chose the $1.95 service. When buying the label, and order is greater than $20, I cannot purchase Standard Envelope service, so I pay $5+ for label, even if buyer only paid $1.95.

The buyer can choose from the shipping services you offer on the listing. If you don't want to ship an item in an ESE, then don't offer that shipping service when you set up your shipping parameters.
