Buyers Requested a Refund and Ebay gave it to them but I haven't received my items back.
Summary: forensicrn01 expressed frustration over receiving no support from eBay after buyers were refunded but did not return items, due to disputes claiming the items were not as described. gosimus explained that eBay's system often favors buyers, especially when disputes are contested rather than managed directly by the seller. comics-scifi-collectibles and gosimus discussed fees related to chargebacks, clarifying specific charges. mr_lincoln advised that eBay's Money Back Guarantee protects buyers, overriding a no-return policy. forensicrn01 lamented the system's fairness and considered switching selling platforms, seeking polite, constructive responses.
Buyers Requested a Refund and Ebay gave it to them but I haven't received my items back. My item was described accurately but ebay gave them a refund anyways and now the buyer won't return my item. Another buyer said they didn't receive my item but they did as it was weighed at the post office. Ebay gave them a refund as well and they have kept my item as well. This is frustrating because I have reported it but Ebay won't answer me. I want my items back or my money and now one is helping. Plus the first buyer got a refund, kept my hoddie and wrote a back review. :(

If you don't voluntarily accept the return for an item that the buyer says is not as described, eBay will refund the buyer out of your funds and allow the buyer to keep the item. You also receive a defect on your selling record for not taking care of the buyer. That's how the Money Back Guarantee works.
Why would you want a buyer who is unhappy with the item you sold to be forced to keep it? If you provide good customer service and accept a return and refund when you receive it back, you can at least resell it.
For your other dispute...having an item weighed at the post office doesn't mean the buyer received it...it only means that it was weighed at the post office. A seller's job is to get the item to the buyer. You prove that with tracking. Had you posted tracking in the dispute proving delivery, you would have won the case. Unfortunately, this has resulted in another defect on your seller record.
Too many defects and you can lose your selling privileges. You can learn about eBay's Money Back Guarantee. at the link below:

OP2 weeks agoI replied to the claim. My item was brand new and accurately described. I told ebay I didn't want to refund and they did it anyways. How is any of this my fault and why would I accept it IF it was all correct. This is a messed up system and very unfair to the seller. I think I will look at other platforms. Also, if your replies are going to be sarcastic and rude don't reply. I was just asking for help not to be made fun of.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @forensicrn01
The only way eBay will refund a Buyer is if you do not reply to a claim within the claim's allotted time (if they filed that they did not receive the item) or refund within 2 days of receiving an item back from a Buyer. Buyers can ask eBay to step i and force the refund from your account and let Buyers keep their items.
Your No return policy does not rule over the eBay Money Back Guarantee that protects Buyers: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy

< My item was described accurately >
I think that statement reveals the problem. The buyer opened a Not As Described dispute, and you didn't accept it. Instead, you contested it, expecting eBay to judge the merits. Bad medicine. You never argue about a not as described. The dispute is handled by computer, and the computer is programmed to always "decide" in favor of the buyer.
The buyer, after four days, asked eBay to step in and help. When the buyer does that,
• eBay refunds the buyer - out of your account, of course
• eBay does not require the buyer to return the item
• eBay adds a Defect to your account for not handling it yourself
• I'm not sure, but eBay might charge you an additional $20

Mentor1 week ago@gosimus Just an FYI... the $20 fee is for chargebacks with a buyers payment method.

Thanks. I wasn't certain if it applied only to chargebacks or to every case where the seller challenged the dispute and lost.
