Buyers Repeatedly Winning Auctions and Not Paying
Honest question for the community since I am having a difficult time finding a direct answer.
Why does eBay allow for accounts that have repeat offenses for winning auctions and not paying or responding to messages without any repercussions? I can't even leave a negative review for the individuals. This seems like a detriment to everyone in the community. Any information that others have received in the past would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

OP10 months agoThanks for taking the time to respond! The two individuals that won my recent auctions and did not pay were able to bypass whatever precautions are taken to ensure automatic payment upon auction win so unsure what happened beyond that. When I went to review the account feedback, multiple mentions of this same behavior has been provided by other users as well so it seems habitual.
Why does eBay not allow for one to provide negative feedback when that occurs? The only option is "positive".
I am familiar with the block functions; recently learned about this but thank you for suggesting. Disappointed that I have to way 5 days before I am able to select the "Buyer hasn't paid" option.

eBay hasn’t given buyers permission to stiff sellers. On the contrary, eBay has given sellers means to require buyers to provide payment information prior to bidding … so that their account is charged automatically if they win the auction.
eBay also has given sellers a means to block buyers (who have received 2 or more nonpayment strikes within a 12-month period) so that they cannot bid or buy from them.
A seller can place a nonpayment strike on any deadbeat buyer’s account by cancelling the unpaid transaction on Day 5 by choosing ‘Buyer hasn’t paid’ as the reason.
Are you familiar with any of these measures to protect sellers?
