Buyers leaving false negative feedback
I guess I'm the only person as a seller on Ebay that finds it stupid that buyers can leave negative feedbacks even though I cancelled and haven't sent out the items and I refunded them back the money and explained the situation on why I cancelled Ebay still allows buyers to leave feedback regardless if it's good or bad and I find it annoying that I can't even get them to delete those uncalled feedbacks because when it reaches a certain time limit it will stay there forever Ebay is the only app I know that does that type of foolery other selling apps don't allow buyers to leave a review unless the item have been sent out and has been received again maybe I'm just the stupid one here.

·2 years agoYour last three feedback as a seller has been negative for canceling orders.
Ship their orders and don't give buyers a reason to leave negative feedback.

OP2 years agoSeems like Ebay are fully against sellers and they give the buyers way too much power I just realized that I'm gonna take my business else where if that's the case.

·2 years agoYa, the buyer is pretty much King on Ebay.
I think most places are about the same, they need buyers, more then they need sellers.

OP2 years agoWhich is stupid because without sellers what use would Ebay be? There wouldn't be no stuffs here to be bought if seller's don't post its pretty much useless its not like it's an app like Amazon.

Mentor2 years ago@kensgiftshop Sellers are the ones who create opportunity. For internet sales, Sellers are the ones who acquire inventory at a cost and take the risk of listing it in hopes it sells. Attracting Buyers in this case eBay's responsibility and that is where the can system fail. The Buyers are out there but if eBay does not attract them the venue fails through no fault of the Sellers. If all Sellers took their items down for one week no business would happen ... Buyers would still be out there but have nothing to Buy on the venue.

·2 years agoTrue, but without buyers, sellers are just wasting their time.
Ebay needs to figure out a way to attract more buyers.
Like I was saying in another post, we see Amazon trucks all over the place here and I live in a fairly small town.
Of all the people I know around here, no one shops on Ebay, they all go to Amazon.
The last one I know of shopping here was about 10 years ago and they were scammed out of $1,200 when the fake tracking started.

Mentor2 years ago@kensgiftshop We used to see Amazon delivery vans on our rural road on a daily basis ... recently not so much, seems more FedEx trucks are cruising the road these days with UPS not far behind.
I agree that eBay needs to attract more Buyers but part and parcel to that is showing Sellers' items to the ones they have. When 1/3 of my listings have 0 Views in the last 30 days and then listings with 0, 1, 2 Views are over 50% that tells me the venue is not doing its job, half my stuff isn't even showing up for Buyers. . Stuff sells but too slowly and it's been that way since early 2022, it is not a short term issue but a long term one.

·2 years agoI don't have much listed right now, I pulled all my used items.
When you go a few months and shows no views, there's something wrong.
I've got a couple items that used to sell as quick as I listed them, now they just set there.
If the buyers can't find our items, that's a big problem they need to fix, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
I'm not playing their pay to sale game.

Mentor2 years agoAlthough I agree that ebay does certainly tend to be buyer centric, in this case, it's not the buyers who have too much power.
You are the seller who listed items, buyers, bought those items and expected to receive them. When they were disappointed, they rightfully left factual feedback.
If you sell on other venues and items are out of stock, it's your responsibility to end the ebay listings. If the item is shown on ebay, it's assumed that it's in stock and available.
Although there are cases where sellers have received feedbacks they don't deserve and shouldn't have received, this isn't one of those cases.

OP2 years agoThey got there money back and I explained what happened some understood and some wanna act like a jerk because they can if I bought something and the seller cancelled on me for whatever reason I move in plus I got my money back so why even leave a feedback anyways? But anyways that's just my opinion anyways.

Mentor2 years agoHi @rudeboijunior
When THREE separate buyers leave a seller negative feedback for cancelling their orders … it seems reasonable to assume that the seller deserves the feedback.
What reason do you think warrants removal?
rudeboijunior
OP2 years agoWell 1st of all they got there money back and 2nd sometimes items get out of stock and sometimes I forget to remove the listing which happens believe it or not the point is buyers shouldn't even be eligible for leaving a feedback if the items isn't arent sent sent out or received.

What you don’t seem to understand is that feedback is meant to rate the entire transaction … and not just the item.
Buyers are usually very upset by a seller cancelling their order … and wish to inform future buyers that it could happen to them as well.
Non-shipping sellers are as anathema to buyers as non-paying buyers are to sellers. Your outrage doesn’t change that.

Mentor2 years agoHi @rudeboijunior
What was the chronology of the cancellation - neg FB and message to the Customer explaining why you cancelled?
rudeboijunior
OP2 years agoItems were out of stock and I been told the buyers but they don't care either way sometimes items are out of stock and the listing don't get taken off in time.

Mentor2 years ago@rudeboijunior My sincere thanks for that information. Below is a link to the Help Pages on eBay's Seller performance. There is also a link to your Seller Dashboard. You will want to pay attention to the information and metrics described and monitored by eBay. I would guess you are currently Above Standard for your account, if you fall to Below Standard your account can receive limitations and will be charged more in Final Value Fees until the account gets above the Below Standard level.
Obviously, to avoid issues in this area keep track of what you do and don't have for sale.
