Buyers file claim with bank and I instantly lose $165. **bleep**?

I recently sold a pny rtx 2080 super graphics card to an ebay buyer. While the item was in transit, buyer files an erroneous claim with his bank. Now Im out $165. Why ebay?

I had your support call me so that I may dispute this outcome. You agreed with me after I provided you with proof that the item was shipped, that the seller received the item and that he left positive feedback for this item. I also had correspondence from the seller sent through ebay where he admitted to me that the item works perfectly.

You assured me that I was wronged and that you would make it right. You started by refunding the $20 dispute fee. That was awesome, thank you for that.

But you went ahead and stole $165 from my bank account without my consent.

I want my money back. End of story...

If eBay can’t recover the money from the credit card issuer, they will not refund the money to you. It can take a while for them to dispute the outcome with the card issuer, so there may still be a chance at a refund.

If it happens again, and the item is still in transit, recall the shipment/request a package intercept.
