Buyer's Can Have Negative Feedback Removed?
I had an extremely negative experience with a buyer. 7 orders, 7 failures, 7 refunds issued after escalating to eBay when the seller failed to communicate. I think my negtive feedback was pretty valid, especially after the seller harassed me via messages about leaving the negative feedback and told me they'd take care of the review themselves. I checked today and see the feedback has been removed. How is that a thing? How can I trust any seller's reviews now?

"I had an extremely negative experience with a buyer. 7 orders, 7 failures, 7 refunds issued after escalating to eBay when the seller failed to communicate".
This topic would make more sense if you figured out if you had problems with a buyer or seller.
"I think my negtive feedback was pretty valid, especially after the seller harassed me via messages about leaving the negative feedback and told me they'd take care of the review themselves"
If a seller cancels a sale and refunds you, ebay feels that a negative feedback can be removed. However, if the seller selected Buyer requested cancellation as the reason for the refunds, you can report them by using the link below. You will have to report each cancelled transaction separately.
When you open the link click on the Blue Report seller button.
Fill in the requested details, and when you get to the Text box, write:
"The seller cancelled the transactions giving an invalid reason, Buyer requested cancellation. Check my messages, I never asked them to cancel".
each of those reports will give the seller a defect, and that could cause them lots of problems, and possibly cause their account to be closed.

OP9 months agoI always chose the "I didn't receive my item" when I clicked "Report a Problem". In the field to offer details I always put something to the effect of I would like the items that I paid for an have a tracking label for, but the shipper never received the packages.
I never cancelled the order to my knowledge, but eBay refunded the order almost instantly after I submitted the item missing report.
The only thing I did outside of my ordinary process was to report the user once they started sending threatening messages after I left the 7th feedback, which was a week or 2 after the 6th one. I used to wait until a day or two after the estimated arrival of the package to contact the seller, it has always been a reasonable conversation. Now I wait until three business days to contact the seller after an order if the item hasn't shipped, and if the arrival dates passes, I wait 2-3 days before contacting the shipper (not the seller)..

Mentor9 months ago7 refunds, so 7 cases opened? You don't need to leave negative feedback to 'get back' at the seller. 7 cases can destroy some sellers, depending on their volume. eBay judges sellers on things that buyers never see.

OP9 months agoI don't think leaving a negative review is "getting back" at a seller. The seller sold me 7 items, took my money at the time of the sale, held my money for 3 weeks while I went through the process with eBay, only to be forced to refund it, responding only twice, all while knowing they did not ship the items. I said in the feedback that I got my money refunded and what happened. I didn't dog on the seller and telle everyone to stay away from them. I could have considering that once the negative review went up, suddenly they had no problem using the messaging system to threaten and harass me.
And it should be noted, that only one of my negative feedback messages ever showed up on their page, but even that was removed.

Mentor9 months agoThe seller did NOT "take your money" nor "hold your money for 3 weeks". You paid through Ebay, and Ebay does not immediately release the funds to the seller.
If your negative feedback mentioned filing a dispute through Ebay for a refund, Ebay can remove the feedback.

OP9 months agoThat's a disingenuous statement at best. The seller listed an item for sale on the platform, I bought the item, and the funds were removed from my account immediately. Regardless of where the funds were while the seller failed to ship the item and ignored my messages asking what was going on, I did not have them and nor did I have the item or confirmation it was even shipped.
Again, my negative feedback literally only said that I ordered 7 items and 7 items weren't shipped and the seller failed to respond so I received a refund. That's it, like 2 sentences.

Mentor9 months agoSellers can have negative feedback removed if it violates Ebay feedback policy.
Feedback can be removed for the following reasons:

OP9 months agoMy feedback could not fall under any of those reasons for removal. I'm pretty sure it was only two or three short sentences stating what happened. There wasn't even a "stay away from this seller" message in it, just what happened and I let the 1 star speak for the rest.
