Buyers attempting to return Parts/Repair As-is Items
I am having an increasing number of attempts to return as-is, parts/repair items. I have refunded two in the past month or so, and have another open case now. I probably have 100 parts/repair items in my store, and it seems like eBay is allowing buyers to abuse returns. It was bad enough when eBay removed negative feedback for buyers, now they are letting them walk all over sellers. These buyers are literally defrauding me. Is there any recourse?

I haven't seen any written policy on this ... but it does seem that eBay IS currently enforcing returns on items listed as 'For parts or not working'. That is based on my reading a number of posts like yours.
I know what eBay used to reject these return requests ... but now apparently feels that these listings can contain statements in the Description that makes them 'not as described'. [An example can be a buyer claiming the item 'Doesn't power on' ... while the description says that it does.]

OP2 years agoThanks for commenting. I am usually pretty careful describing any issues. There was no argument from these buyers that the item wasn't as described. They just say "hey this is broken" and ask for a return label or a refund. The strange thing is all three of my recent "problem buyers" all received very generous Best Offer discounts. One even said when he made an offer, "I realize this SSD is bad, I will not ask to return it." Then immediately requested a return and left negative feedback. It's getting ugly out there.
