Buyer's address was incomplete and returned, buyer wants to get the same item resent to them
How do I handle this request:
Buyer's address was incomplete in ebay and was not delivered and sent back by USPS. Buyer contacted me saying they still want the item. Ebay told me I could issue a refund and then relist the item for the buyer to purchase again.
However how do I get reimbursed for my ebay fees and postage which I paid for?
Also how do you get in touch with a live ebay agent?

OP9 months agoI told the buyer that I would reimburse them, minus the shipping fees I paid for. I'm doing them a favor because the item had no refunds on it and ebay said I didn't need to refund them at all. I just want to get the ebay fees reimbursed as well.

OP9 months agoAgain the item was returned to me by USPS because the buyer address entered was incomplete, which was an error on the buyer side.

Yes, the buyer made a mistake (as everyone does does on occasion). However by pretending that shipping was free to get the sale but now claiming the shipping wasn't free (when your listing clearly stated it was) is contradicting your terms of sale. Refunding the buyer isn't doing him a favor, it's doing what's right.
As I mentioned already, your fees are credited to you based on the amount of the refund.

OP9 months agoThe buyer didn't pay for shipping, I did. Since the return was due to an error on the buyers side (incomplete address), I want to get reimbursed for the shipping I paid.

If you state the shipping is "free," then it's free. You would owe the buyer a full refund, and you take the loss on the label. You don't get reimbursed for it.

No, don't subtract the fees (only the shipping paid by the buyer). You are credited for the fees on the refunded amount.

Mentor9 months agoRefund for price of item only. Relist the item and the buyer can repurchase the item using the corrected shipping address.
