Buyer wore the item and returned

Question

I had a buyer buy a pair of NWT leather pants and asked for a return because they didn’t fit. I accepted but when they arrived the tag was removed and the item has spills on them. These are real leather pants and these changes great depreciate the item. What can I do?

1) Report the buyer for misusing the Money Back Guarantee here if appropriate: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/reporting-issue-buyer?id=4084

2) Block the Buyer https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock

3) Issue a refund - you may be able to issue a partial refund if you are a Top Rated Seller.

4) Appeal the case to eBay if you can't issue a partial.

Although you are a Top Rated Seller you do not offer returns so you will not be able to deduct up to 50% of the item price when making the refund. You would have to have offered free returns to have this ability.
