Buyer won't return items
I sold two items to a buyer. They arrived fine, but the buyer was unhappy with them and I agreed to take them back and refund their money. After I refunded the money, the buyer claimed that they thought it was unfair that they had to pay the return postage and refused to send the items back. I contacted eBay and had my credit card reverse the transaction. I have had two contacts with eBay and they agree with me that the buyer has an obligation to return the items to me. However, eBay won't reverse the credit back to the buyer and force them to give me my items back or not get the credit. Ebay says I can't appeal the decision. I don't know why? They keep telling me I have to work this out with my buyer. Well, I can't. They won't send the items back. They either get the refund or they can keep the items. They can't do both. This is fraud and they are abusing the eBay return system. I have reported the buyer. What else can I do to either get my items back or have eBay reverse the credit?

·3 years agoYou never refund until after you receive the item back. eBay can't force the buyer to pay you. It was your error to refund prior to getting items back. You can Send them Prepaid Return Shipping Labels, but I doubt they would use the labels. I think they have your items permanently.

Mentor3 years ago@billf6570 This is not new. If the seller refunds the items without receiving them back first, nobody, ebay or you, can do anything about it. You have to rely on the buyer's morals and ethics.
If the buyer states the only reason they won't send the items back is bc of paying for a return shipping label, send them a pre paid return shipping label.

OP3 years agoWhy can't eBay just reverse the credit to the buyer? Then she has to send the items back to get the credit. The buyer bought the items under the condition that if they were unsatisfied, they would have to pay the return shipping. Ebay agrees with me, but won't reverse the credit.
