Buyer won't return item after being issued a full refund.
Sold boots to a man in california. He was issued a full refund, but won't return the boots. Now he is ignoring my messages.
This is a lot of information, but I'm posting the correspondence. I now realize that by closing his refund request initially is causing Ebay not to recognize the return, but you can see he was issued a full refund in the correspondence.

I didn't read all the correspondence, but don't refund before you get the item back.
Here's how to send a return label to the buyer.
1) Create a label from a 3rd party site such as Pirate Ship
2) Save the label. By default the label is a PDF file
3) Open the pdf label and Save As a JPG file
- You could also screenshot or "clip" the label to make a JPG
4) Send the JPG to the buyer by eBay Messages. (PDFs don't send through messages.
If you think the buyer doesn't have a printer, you can mail them a printed label to attach.
Fingers crossed they return them.

OP4 months agoI'm not an experience seller when it comes to this. I sell few things and have never had an issue like this. I tried to be fair and honest and issued a refund before the return. Apparently that was my mustake; I trusted the buyer. Now, nothing I can find on Ebay give me a clue to the return I made, except that it shows a refund was made. I don't know where the refund was issued nor do i know how to find this information. I am at a loss, but still determined to do everything I can do to get reimbursed. This has cost me roughly $120. Might not be a lot of money to some sellers, but it is to me and my wife.
Where can I see where the refund was made? He sent me a screenshot showing he received a refund for $14 and change. I show he was issued a refund for $58. I don't understand the discrepency and don't know how to find the discrependy. He won't correspond with me and has ignored my messaages.
Personally I think sellers need to band together to convince Ebay that they actually need sellers more than buyers. If there was nothing to sell, they wouldn't get any fees. I think there should be a moratorium for one week. Can you imagine how much in fees Ebay would lose. I lost my money, why shouldn't they lose something. Who then would then complain to? Maybe this would get their attention so they would at least allow sellers to leave negative feedback on buyers like the one who conned me. Just my opinion.

Mentor4 months agoOnce you refund without a return eBay tells the buyer they do not have to return. At this point you have no way to get the item back or reimbursed through eBay.
If the buyer doesn't have a full refund they will need to handle figuring out themselves you refunded.
