Buyer won item #1, bid on #2 that closes after #1 is supposed to be paid
Is it okay to offer to sell them the 2nd item with an agreed to negotiated/compromised cost? In order to let the buyer get both items so they can close together and ship together?

Mentor11 months agoBe aware that sellers who opt into auto pay and offer a discount for combined shipping, ebay sends a notification that the buyer can click to continue shopping, and if s/he wins additional items, s/he can take up to 7 days to pay for all the items to get a discount for combined shipping.

You cannot send the buyer an invoice with combined shipping because you are Opted into ebay's auto pay for auctions which means the buyer pays immediately. After you package the items together and get a shipping cost for it you can issue the buyer a refund for the difference of what they paid and what the actual shipping cost is.
You can reset your Buyer Rules to opt out of auto pay on your auctions by opening your account clicking on Buyer management then look below the standard requirements for
Uncheck the rule requiring a payment method before a bid can be placed. Do make sure to set the requirements above the Buyer rules to, Block buyers who have caused [ 2 ] cancellations of unpaid orders in the last [12] months.

The buyer has not paid yet on the first item and I was hoping we could close the 2nd early with an agreed negotiated amount for the 2nd auction item then I could do the combined shipping today?
The second item if it follows the days on sale closes after the one she has already won and is required to pay date.

-If your Cancellation for unpaid items is NOT turned on then you can wait for item #2 auction to end and invoice both at the same time.
-The Auto-pay feature that @mudshark61369 mentioned means if it is ON your Buyer would have supplied a payment method BEFORE they bid on your auctions AND that payment method would have been charged one hour after item #1 auction ended (Buyers have one hour to change the payment method but in one hour they are charged). If it has been more than an hour since item #1 auction ended Auto-pay for Auctions on your account is turned OFF.
-As to your comment, "... with an agreed negotiated amount ..." You cannot reduce the price if a bid has been placed on #2. You can however use the End function on the drop-down menu on the left of the item on your Active list and sell to the highest bidder, assuming your customer is the highest bidder. The item would then move to your Awaiting payment folder and you can click the Send invoice on either item and they will both be put on the invoice. You can then Combine and reduce the shipping amount and send the invoice for payment.
To get to the "... with an agreed negotiated amount ..." you might be able to further reduce the shipping cost but not the item price on an eBay invoice or worse case send the Buyer a partial refund after they pay for both items. You might need to explain this to them so they understand that you can only change the shipping cost on eBay invoices not the item prices.
-I know that is a lot to digest but hopefully you can get the deal done one way or the other with your customer.
