Should I ( as a seller ) allow a buyer to cancel an order from an auction ?

·3 years agoWhen a buyer ask to cancel an order, I just cancel as buyer requested.
If you don't, they could pay to keep from getting an unpaid item strike, then damage the item when they receive it.
You would have to pay to return it, give a full refund and be stuck with a damaged item.

If the buyer is aware of the risk of getting a non-paying buyer Strike, s/he could go ahead and pay you. Then, when the item arrived, open a fraudulent Not As Described dispute to return the item – at your expense, of course – to get a refund. He might not even return the actual item, but a rock instead, and eBay would still give him the refund. I'd consider the likelihood of this remote, but nonetheless finite, and other sellers have reported it happening.

You have some options:
-If the Buyer has or has not paid yet, Cancel immediately using the reason "Buyer requested". The Buyer's account will NOT receive an Unpaid item strike.
-If the Buyer has NOT paid wait 4 days and on the 5th day cancel using the reason "Buyer hasn't paid". The Buyer's account will get one Unpaid item strike. If they get 2 in 12 months they will have trouble buying on eBay.
-You can add any member to your blocked list on this page: Buyer Management | eBay

Mentor3 years ago@newton1957 You are more than welcome. Giving Buyers unpaid item strikes is how Sellers can help penalize those who don't pay.
