Buyer with zero feedback
Buyer with zero feedback account 2 years old, paid the address is in the middle of nowhere you think it's a scam or should I ship it

Mentor6 months ago@pogopuss Everyone has zero feedback to start. Buyers can only have positive feedback so their feedback score doesn't mean a lot. What sellers check is the feedback they leave for others.
The buyer paid so eBay expects you to ship. Be sure to ship to the address provided at checkout with signature required on delivery since the sale is over $750. You need to pay extra for insurance if you want protection against loss or damage in shipping. Keep in mind that shipping carries will not refund if they think that the item was not packaged well enough. If you don't feel comfortable throwing the box at least 4 feet and having another heavy box land on top of it then it needs more packing material.
Keep in mind that your No Return Policy is only for buyers remorse..... changed mind, found better price, etc,
The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your no returns policy. If the Buyer SAYS it is somehow not as described then you MUST accept the return, issue a return shipping label and refund 100% when you receive the item back.
I recommend messaging the buyer and making sure that they read the description in regards to what is and is NOT included in the purchase. Buyers do not always read all of a listing.

OP6 months agoThank you for your answer just a little worried I Googled the address and it's in the middle of nowhere at a Crossroads by Farms there is some kind of business or house there I messaged the person they haven't responded yet I have until the 17th the ship if I don't feel comfortable I guess I will just cancel and say it's no longer available and refund his money

Mentor6 months ago@pogopuss Just know that when you cancel you do get a Defect on your account. I do understand being worried about selling this expensive of an item online anywhere.
Be sure to have a credit card in your account for back up payment methods for selling costs as that is what you have to use to "float" the refund.

Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.

OP6 months agoWhat do you mean by a defect on my account. His funds will clear tomorrow and be in my checking account if I refund him and and cancel the order it should come right back out of my checking account that's linked to my eBay. I don't want to send a $1,400 item to a scammer and send it back with box for rocks

Mentor6 months ago@pogopuss When you have to cancel using the reason of out of stock then you do unfortunately receive a defect. You do get your sellers fees back. IF you are very concerned about the sale then you might want to take the defect. See the Seller Standards Policy
The buyers payment will be on hold for about 30 days since it is a high priced sale and you are what eBay considers an occasional seller.
Refunds can never be just reversed from the buyers payment as I explained in my previous reply. You do get made whole again and it balances out but there will be a delay.
This might be an item that you would prefer to sell as local pick up, although eBay sales are paid for through the site even for local pick up items so the buyer would have the same return rights if sold on eBay as Local Pick Up.
A box of rocks being returned to you is possible on ANY selling venue as buyers can also filed credit card charge backs. The only 100% guarantee that this will not happen is if you sell for cash locally.

Check the date the picture was taken, it's at the bottom of the display. Only yesterday I googled the location of a new restaurant I was excited to learn about, a new Twin Peaks in Omaha. The restaurant is definitely there, because its website shows that they're open, and they have several reviews. When I googled the address, the picture shows an empty field. The date at the bottom of the picture says it was taken in 2024 . . . the building hadn't been erected yet.
If you're checking me out on the above, make sure you're seeing the new Twin Peaks on 179th Street. There was a Twin Peaks in Omaha before, but that earlier one closed permanently during the covid epidemic.
