Buyer will not return canceled order.
Recently sold a computer and got alerts from eBay saying they were holding the payment and all that, so I shipped the computer. Some way or another, he was overcharged for delayed payment, and I needed to send him $500 in eBay gift cards, extra. I don’t have any extra $500 lying around, so I canceled the order and messaged the buyer to ship the computer back. Well, now I don’t have money for the sell, or the computer. It’s been 14 days now, and he has not returned the product or responded to the messages.

Unfortunately it sounds like you were the victim of a scam.
Did you check your seller hub for the notification that the buyer had actually paid before you shipped the item?

There is NO way that you would need to send ANYBODY $500 in Ebay gift cards.

OP2 years agoNo unfortunately it did not. I assumed the email I received was from eBay, to my mistake. Is there any way I can reach out to eBay about this to get it dealt with?

Since you willingly sent the item without confirming the buyer paid, Ebay will not be able to help you.
Have you checked your Seller Hub now to check if there is any confirmation of the buyer's order and your sale and payment status?
Since the buyer committed internet fraud, you should contact law enforcement.

OP2 years agoYes, I’ve checked it, it says that I’ve made “x†amount of dollars I sold the computer for, but I look at my eBay balance and it says $0. So, my guess is that the payment will not be received.
