Buyer wants to return item
The buyer wants to return an item that is exactly as photographed. If I accept the return and have to pay the shipping I will lose money as the shipping cost more than the sale. What do I do?

Sellers will periodically lose money on a sale. That's part of doing business. While a seller can say the item is exactly like the photograph (because that's what his eyes tell him when he looks at both the item and the photo) that doesn't mean the item looks the same to the buyer.For example, color appears differently on every monitor.
You might have avoided this by writing your own description, disclosing details about each piece, disclosing any flaws, etc. instead of using the AI marketing speak that does nothing to really describe the item.
An antique pewter tea set must have a lot of flaws if it's only selling for $37.00. If it doesn't have a lot of flaws, then you should be able to re-sell it for much much more than that. Just show photos of imperfections and I would also photograph each piece separately so the buyer can really tell what she's buying.
It's best to follow the advice of @golfingaddict so you don't start off your selling career with problems that will harm you as a seller.

Mentor7 months agoAccept the return and refund in full when you get it back.
You can then report the buyer for a "faulty return"
If you fight it, you will lose and end up paying the fees and getting a defect on your account.
eBay will not mediate this. The buyer can return the item and you can't fight it.
