If a buyer asks you to delay shipping, here’s what you need to know:
You must ship within your stated handling time, not just print the label but actually have the item scanned by USPS. Delaying shipment can hurt your DSR (Detailed Seller Rating) and affect your seller protections.
If the buyer needs a short delay, you can still ship on time and use the Hold for Pickup option at the USPS front desk. That keeps your tracking valid and the buyer can pick it up later.
If the buyer wants a longer delay, it’s safer to cancel the transaction (buyer’s request) and ask them to repurchase when they’re ready. This avoids shipping delays and protects your seller metrics.
