Buyer wants me to delay shipping - is there a way to avoid a defect?
I sold an item and Buyer wants me to wait to ship until he's home after about a week. Of course this is days later than eBay requires me to ship it . So if I accommodate Buyer, I will get a "late shipping" defect from eBay. I asked eBay and the Rep suggested I explain the situation to Buyer and then cancel the original sale, and ask Buyer to re-order in a few days, to meet his schedule. But I truly do not want to do this; for fear maybe he will get annoyed and cancel, period! I should be able to manage one late shipping defect -- I think I would rather do this than risk losing a truly great sale. Is there any other way to delay shipping and avoid a defect ? TIA.

Mentor1 year ago@timestreasuresllc I would suggest to the buyer that they have the post hold their mail, that is what I do when I am out of town.
Otherwise you will get a late shipping defect for tracking not uploaded on time. One won't hurt you too much depending on your sales volume. Be sure to check your seller dashboard.
