Buyer waited too long to return item and ebay closed case
I have a buyer who requested a return which I accepted and sent him a return shipping label. He waited too long to send back and ebay closed the case. He reached out to me requesting the return and said he had too many things happening in his life and wasn't able to get to the post office in time. Can he re-open the return case? I fully intend to refund him, as it was my mistake with the item but I have not had this happen before and can't find much regarding this in the help articles. Also, if he can't re-open the case can I deduct the fees I paid to ebay on the initial sale?

Mentor3 years agoBuyer can not reopen the case. You can still just refund him, but if you want your item back first, you will have to send your own return label, although if he already printed the original label, it may still be usable. Otherwise you can use a free PirateShip account to send a pay-on-use return label.
You can not get your ebay fees back, as the case is closed.
