Buyer threatening to reject package.
Does eBay not have a live customer service anymore? The automated assistant doesn't have answers that help me...
I have a question, I'm still a rookie when it comes to selling on eBay and this is the first time I've had this problem
I sold an item on 11/27/23, I dropped the package off with the carrier(USPS) on 11/28/23
Which the tracking shows it departed the post office that same day. The package didn't have another tracking update until 12/5/23 in which it shows it arrived at the regional distribution center in my city, so that's 7 days the carrier had the package and it still hadn't left my city. So now the buyer is messaging me threatening they're going to reject the package if it's not delivered by 12/9/23 which the tracking shows it didn't move out of my city until today(12/7/23)
So is there anything I can do about this? I shouldn't be faulted for the carriers delays.

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer will lose their money back guarantee if they refuse the package for any reason other than postage due.
If the item is delayed, a buyer can return it as not as described with the seller paying the shipping. I know it stinks when you did everything right, but the seller is responsible for the package until delivery. No good ever comes from trying to force a buyer to keep an unwanted purchase.
If the item gets refused, wait until it arrives back to you, then refund the item price only. If the buyer opens a not received claim, ask customer service to close it in your favor due to the refused delivery.
