Buyer threatened to leave negative feedback if I do not cancel his winning bid after he paid
Buyer bid on an item of mine and wanted me to cancel after he paid and after the item was packed and ready to ship.
i asked him to cancel through eBay. He refused and said I had to cancel for him. Then he said I took his money and if I didn’t cancel the sale he would leave negative feedback. This was threatening to me. I cancelled and blocked him. I think he violated policy with that threat.
he had plenty of time to retract his bid. He also could have asked eBay himself to cancel.
He also accused me of “taking†his money when he wanted to cancel. eBay sent his money and had it on hold. I had nothing to do with his money. He was a rude person.
His order is cancelled bc I didn’t want to deal with a troubled buyer. However, I read on eBay that I had the option not to cancel if I didn’t want to and that a buyer cannot leave negative feedback because the seller won’t cancel the sale.
Now that the sale has been cancelled a couple of days, I want to report the threatening email from this bad buyer. Will eBay do anything about it?
I also want to send this bad buyer an email/message saying he is blocked, his threatening language will be reported to eBay, that he should have cancelled himself earlier by retracting his bid or before the audition ended. If I send him such a message, can he still
leave negative feedback after the sale is cancelled?
I do not want to tolerate such bullying behavior. He will continue until someone calls him out or until EBay corrects him.
He was clearly hoping to be outbid and was not, and had buyer’s remorse and took it out on me. I want this person to realize his behavior is recognized and will
not be tolerated.could not want to send him a message and tell him threatening to leave negative feedback of if I don’t

Actually, there are some things you need to know ...
-Buyers cannot cancel bids, Sellers can and you can use the following page, you need to Buyer's ID and the eBay item number: Cancel buyer's bids | eBay
Whenever a Buyer asks me to cancel their bid I do so without hesitation and regardless of the reason they give me. If they are no longer interested then I don't want them to win the auction.
-Buyers can retract bids BUT that is only for 2 reasons - the first is if they bid the wrong amount and then REPLACE the retracted bid with a correct bid. They can also retract a bid if the item listing was changed - like by adding addition description after a bid is placed that changes the item in some way. like a previously undisclosed flaw, etc.
-The Buyer threatening you with Negative Feedback in the way that they did is indeed a policy violation and you could have Neg FB removed, it would be considered Feedback Extortion.
-On the Sold item the Report Buyer link still may be there and active, use that to alert eBay of a potential issue with the Buyer.
-If you got a nasty gram or two in eBay Messaging use the three dot menu in the upper right and Report the message.
Sorry it happened, not all people on the venue are nice, and that includes BOTH Buyers and Sellers.
