Buyer Scamming
I sold a $530 item to a buyer who, after having it for a long time, claimed it was not as described. He reported to Ebay that he did not receive the item, which was a lie. I ended up refunding the $530 and demanding they return the item to me and provide a tracking number. Thereupon, the buyer mysteriously stopped communicating and Ebay refuses to help. I believe I have been scammed. Is there any way to get Ebay directly involved, or do they just let you twist in the wind? If that is the case, I need to find another way to sell my goods and drop Ebay altogether. Any help will be appreciated.

OP3 years agoThat would make sense, however Buyer claims Ebay told them to flag it as Not Received, so somewhere along the line I smell a rat.

It is not possible for a buyer to file a Refund Request/Item Not Received if tracking indicates that the item was delivered.
If you refunded the buyer already, they are not required to return the item. Sellers should not refund until AFTER they receive the returned item.
