How do I keep the money the buyer sent if they took what I sold them but are requesting a refund to scam me out of my money?

·1 year agoHow exactly did the buyer request a refund or return? What was the reason shown? How long ago was the order, and how was it shipped?

OP1 year agoI didn’t ship the item I scratched the code off and sent him the photo of the gift card. The reason is saying that the code I gave him didn’t work and was used already and has pictures showing the code not working but he already use the code and just put pictures of the code he already used not working. The order was not long ago at all it says I have to deal with the refund order by June 11 or eBay will step in to help. But if I give him his money back I’m just going to lose my own money and the gift card because the money he sent me is on permanent hold at the moment.

·1 year agoIf you did not ship anything, then you have no way to prove delivery. Sending a buyer a photo of the gift card numbers is not something you should ever do, and can make it easy for them to claim it was not received, and win that case on eBay. I’m sorry, but I don’t think you really have any other option here except to refund.
