Buyer Scammed me
Sold item Saturday, 30 March, I printed off Ebay label- took box to PO Mongay 1 April. Unfortunately, USPS Ground Advantage did not deliver on initial expected date, 4 April and did sit in GA for almost 2 days. I did follow up with a couple calls to USPS- but was told delivery date not guaranteed with this shipping method. Buyer complaining, needed item for her horse. So, I felt bad, refunded her and asked her to write RTS on box - so that I can get it back to relist. She says, "sure, no problem." Item delivered 8 April, I messaged buyer, buyer then tells me, on 9 April, that ebay used wrong address for the shipping label, she has moved, and getting box back was not her job... I did file fraud with ebay, almost 48 hours ago- still no update.
Do I sit tight or do I leave negative feedback for buyer - so other sellers aren't adversely impacted by such dishonesty. I have dealt with difficult people before, but at least they weren't dishonest. And what the heck- no number to call and talk to someone in Customer Service? Not much help with that chat- could not get through to an agent... After 22 years on ebay - I'm really discouraged.
Any helpful info is appreciated- Thank You!

·2 years ago@biggesthorse I forgot to note that you reported the buyer, which is all you can do. When eBay takes action on a report and restricts a buyer, they don't inform the person who reported.
If you haven't already, make sure you put this buyer's ID on your Blocked Bidder List:

OP2 years agoOh, Thank You for this, too- really good info.. Is it worth leaving feed back like "refuses to return item after being refunded? I know it will add to positive feedback number, and she most certainly will leave nasty feedback for me, might save another seller from her ? Thank you, again.

·2 years ago@biggesthorse You're welcome! No, it's against eBay policy for a seller to leave a positive with negative wording. She could report it and have it removed.
If she does leave you nasty feedback, you could reply to it, but then she can reply to that and have the last word. If you do choose to reply, keep it kind and professional, and think about how potential future buyers will view it. The good news is that negative/neutral feedback doesn't count against your performance standards.
My advice is to just not leave feedback for this one.

·2 years agoHi @biggesthorse I'm sorry to say, there is nothing else you can do at this point. Never refund before the buyer returns the item. EBay cannot make the buyer return the item.
Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. You can only leave a positive feedback.
Buyers are responsible for providing their correct shipping address. It's clearly shown during the checkout process, and the buyer can change the address before paying. (And if she didn't receive the package, how did she know it was sent to her old address?)
