Buyer says item doesn't match description
So I'm new to selling on eBay. I sold an old army grenade ammo box and used the description provided by AI. The item had 2 holes drilled in the box not making it water proof but the description said it was water proof. My pictures on the pisting clearly show the holes. The guy paid $20 for it because unaware that after so many relistings ebay reduces the price. I didn't know I had this option on so he got it for $20 when I marked it low at $40 (getting off topic)
My question: He is requesting a refund (which i don't accept returns) he's saying description was incorrect and pictures don't match. The pictures he uploaded are exactly the same but he took them a different angels. So I feel we both missed something. He missed the holes and i did not read the description that AI wrote ( honestly I would have still missed it if I would have (I've never seen a grenade box). My photos I had on the listing had the clearly.
I offered him a $10 refund because we both missed it and i dont want ebay to step in m l don't think I should have to include shipping fees in my refund offer
Example: buyer paid $20 +10 on shipping
So he paid $30 but I didn't include shipping.
Anyone have any suggestions or if he declines my offer,mbbay will step in .
What would you do?

Mentor1 year agoIf the buyer actually opened an "Item not as described" case then you must accept the return and fully refund the buyer. This kind of case overrules your No Returns policy and if you do not accept the return eBay will automatically accept it for you and force a refund and you will receive a defect on your account and will not receive your Final Value Fees back.
