Buyer says he did not receive item even though tracking showed he did
So I had a buyer message me today claiming that he never received his package even though the tracking number indicates that it was delivered 4 days ago. I informed him to file a claim with his post office. He responded with "Is that all you can do for me?" Think he is looking for me to refund his money which I am not going to do. My concern now it that he will file a claim with Ebay just saying that the item was received damaged so that he can get a refund. Any suggestions on what I should do, if anything?

Instead of advising a buyer to file a claim (which will do him no good as the package was delivered), respond with the tracking # proving delivery, and advise the buyer to contact his local post office to ask exactly where the package was left. They have GPS tracking that can pinpoint the location. If they mis-delivered, they should help track it down. (If stolen after delivery, there is nothing that can be done except filing a police report to let law enforcement know criminal activity is occurring in his neighborhood and, if the item was valuable, perhaps claiming the loss on his homeowner's policy.)
The buyer cannot get a refund from you for a damaged item through opening a claim if he doesn't return it to you (unless you decide to give him a refund on your own).
