Buyer saying they have returned an item that has not been shipped yet
A buyer bought and paid last evening. This morning, a Sunday, I received an email saying she had returned the item at the post office and wanted a refund. I have not mailed the item yet. What should I do?

The path of least resistance is to cancel the sale as buyer requested from the drop down menu next to the sold item. This will start the refund process.
Then add the buyer to your blocked list> https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?
If you have purchased the label you can cancel it>
You can void/ cancel the label within 28 days of purchasing it from the actions drop down menu next to the label on this page>
https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub
Then the postal service will refund you in about 3-4 weeks on your all transactions page here>

Per eBay policy if a package is refused it voids the eBay Money Back Guarantee. The only reason a buyer can refuse a package is if it has postage due. However while it voids the eBay Money Back Guarantee buyers still have protection under their funding source. This is why I always recommend refunding the item price if the item is returned to sender for some reason.

I would respond to her with something like "Dear xxxx. Thank you for your purchase on July 19 for the vintage juicer. I will pack it safely and ship it out on Monday. If you have any questions about this purchase, please let me know. Thanks again". Then sign with your real first name.
