Buyer returning item
Hi all,
|'m just frustrated. I have a buyer who bought an item for £25.
I was listed as used. The description states it is used. The photos show the packaging is open.
Now I get a message stating the buyer thought it was brand new and wanted to give it as a gift and requested it is returned. However this was all done by messaging and even though I told her to use the returns service for both our sakes, she refused. She wanted my address so she could return it (my address is on my dashboard anyway). She stated that every time she wants to return something she just emails the seller and they provide the address. I explained on numerous occasions that this was wrong and that ebay will not refund my fees unless she uses the returns service and that it's safer for her return.
Now she has gone off on one about how awkward I'm being and she's been put off buying etc. She's made the excuse that she's elderly and doesn't know how to use a computer. I've provided info on videos which will instruct her how to do it as well as how to find out the info using ebays help service. 9 emails later she's now sent the item.
What I'm thinking is that she's used the item and now wants to get her money back (it's a craft item). As it's a used item there might not be ways to prove this. It sounds like she's done this several times. I'm just a small business with a small turn over. £25 is a lot of money to me. I just think she was pulling a fast one to get her full money back after she's used it based on what she's said and the fact she mentions that she 'normally' just requests a return address.
Any suggestions on what I can do? I feel aggrieved at all this fuss she's made, the time it's taken sending emails back and forth and finding out info to help her and that she's a scammer using items then returning them.
