Buyer returned to wrong return address - return still says delivered
Summary: applemacanix is facing an issue where a buyer returned an item using their own label, preventing visibility of the tracking number. Although eBay marked it as delivered, the item hasn't been received, raising concerns about a mistaken or fraudulent return. The participant questions why eBay doesn't display the tracking number uploaded by the buyer when using their own return label.
The issue I'm also having is a buyer returned an item with his own label, so I never saw what tracking number he used. eBay says it's delivered, but I do not have the item. Normal returns, you can see the return tracking number right in the return section of that item.
This buyer found a way around that, so I have no idea what the return tracking number is, but it says delivered and I have to refund the buyer. The buyer either mistakenly sent it to the wrong address or is fraudulent. Either way, I don't see a good reason to not use a free prepaid return label provided vs. paying for your own (it was a larger item) other than fraud.
Why doesn't eBay show the tracking number the buyer uploaded for their own label?
