Buyer return 1/2 of item, kept $350.00 part. Ebay went ahead and refunded whole amount.
I had a return of a fairly expensive item (solar electric storage box and a solar panel). The buyer asked to return item saying it didn't work (it did though). Anyway, buyer returned the storage box ONLY and kept the solar panel (this panels are selling on eBay between $250 - $350). I reported this to eBay. I've clear through the process of appeals now and eBay refunded the buyer the whole amount (against my wishes). I'd have no problem refunding them if I had got back what I sold and shipped to them, but feel that the buyer keeping a $350.00 item and getting a complete refund is theft aided by eBay. eBay kept telling be 'no worries' but they are not going to do anymore. To me, losing this item is a big worry. I don't know where to go from here.
