Buyer requests shipment to a different address.
What should I do for items that I have sold where the Buyer is requesting shipment to a different address? Thank you!

Since this is a high value item a SIGNATURE on delivery is required to validate delivery. So, very sorry.
I would make it restricted delivery so that ONLY the buyer can sign for it. You do pay extra for this and have to buy the postage at the post office, or possibly USPS click and ship.

You can NOT change the address without canceling the sale, refunding the buyer, then you relist and they pay again and put in the correct address at checkout.
Per eBay policy you MUST ship to the address provided by the buyer at checkout to have tracking proof of delivery for seller protection. Plus shipping is based on distance to buyer, plus the package size and weight so the shipping price will be different.
You can cancel as problem with buyers address in the drop down menu next to the sold item. Although you are not required to.
Then this is how refunds work>>
Refunds, even for order cancellations, come out of your available funds not pending or held. If you do not have available funds then eBay charges your back up payment method for selling costs.
Have you entered your backup payment method for selling costs here: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list Select Manage under the method you want to use then select Preferred for selling costs. I use a credit card.
Once you issue the refund and the buyers funds are released from being held or finish processing then the buyers payment is released to you.

The postal carrier will refund you for the shipping label in 3-4 weeks on your All Transactions page here>

OP2 years agoThank you VERY much! Will I have a problem getting paid by Ebay if I send the merchandise to their Ebay address rather than the address that they are telling me to send it to?

Mentor2 years ago@basaltman2 No problem for you. Your job as a seller is to ship to the address provided at checkout.
The only possible issue is a negative feedback left by the buyer which SHOULD be able to be removed but the way feedback removal works now it's hard to say
If you DO ship to the address provided and don't agree to change it then I recommend reporting the buyer. This way the AI that handles feedback removal should be clued in of the policy violation.
Report buyer> Buyer demanded something that was not offered in my listing
