OP2 years agoThanks. Question: I sent the buyer a return shipping label. Why does ebay give the buyer until April 29 to ship the item ?? Also what if I not able to immediately inspect the item upon return, to give the buyer his refund within 2 days.. ??

Just refund in full (you'll have to do that whether you inspect it or not). When you inspect the item, if what the buyer claimed was wrong with it in the return case isn't true, you can use the Report link in the case to get it on record with eBay.

Mentor2 years agoHi @saabr
If the buyer opens an item not as described case, you have to do one of the following:
1. Accept the return (shipping is on you) and refund once you get the item back.
2. Refund without requiring a return.
3. Refuse. If you refuse, eBay will refund the buyer out of your account, they will not require a return, and you will be awarded a defect on your seller record which could impact your ability to sell in the future.
Option #1, is the way to go on this )unless you don't want the item back and are happy to save the shipping cost and just refund the buyer's original payment).

OP2 years agoThanks for the response. So the buyer refuses to discuss this purchase, therefore by default they are presumed correct and the seller was in the wrong. Yes you are correct, option#1 is the best option. Thanks for listening..

You're welcome.
Just to add...
eBay is not presuming you are wrong, they are just expecting you to take care of the buyer's problem. If you do that before the deadline, there is no negative impact to you from eBay. (I understand that you lose money on the shipping, but that's part of doing business for all sellers.)
