Buyer Requests New Address After Purchase
Hello,
I just made a sale and within 5 minutes of the sale being finalized, the buyer contacted me to ask if I could ship to a new address.
I'm not finding any information in the help section - my concern is that this could be a fraudulent order.
I would truly appreciate any help or if you could point me in the right direction for more info!
Thank you!

Never, EVER, ship to ANY address other than the one eBay provides. EVER.
Doing so voids what few seller protections you have.
It may not even be your buyer that is contacting you. Scammers troll completed auctions, contact sellers claiming to be the “buyer,†and hope to have the items sent to them instead.
If it is your buyer, reply that you cannot accommodate their request and that if they need to have it shipped to another address, then you will need to cancel. They can repurchase and this time enter the CORRECT address.
If they don’t want to do this, then that should be another red flag.
Good luck to you.

I replied to the buyer's message and let them know exactly what you said.
Thank you again!

Mentor1 year agoSellers must ship to the address provided by the buyer on payment for the item. Let the buyer know that you are cancelling the purchase and relisting so they can rebuy the item and enter the correct shipping address. You never want to ship to a different address than originally provided.
