Buyer requests ending auction early and add Buy It Now for their offer
The buyer offered me a fair price for my item and says I can add Buy It Now for the price of his offer and he will buy it. I do NOT have the Offers option activated. This seems to go against the spirit of an auction. There are already 4 bids on the item and it has 4 more days to run. Is this against eBay policy? I can't find a good answer in the Help section. I am disinclined to accept his offer for ethical reasons, in spite of the policy. He says eBay doesn't care as long as it is before 24 hours of ending.

You cannot add a Buy It Now if the auction already has bids.
Offers are not made through messages.
I would just invite them to place a bid and wish them luck.

Mentor3 years agoAdvise the buyer that this is an auction and Best Offers are not accepted. It is your policy to allow your auctions to run to completion to be fair to all interested bidders. Invite the buyer to join in the bidding.
Just because someone makes you an offer doesn't mean you have to accept it. Even legitimate offers made through the Best Offer option can be declined.

OP3 years agoMuch thanks. Some buyers are very pushy.
