Buyer request for package
I had a buyer ask for this after purchasing:
"Can you include the following at the post office.
When the item arrives I want a phone call to my cell xxx-xxx-xxxx. "
Would you put this on the outside of a package, as requested? It's going from US to Canada via the international shipping program.

No, don’t put a phone number or special instructions like that on the outside of the package.
eBay International Shipping handles the delivery once it reaches their hub, not you
Carriers do not guarantee phone calls to the recipient
Putting a personal phone number on the package is not necessary and can create privacy issues
Best approach:
Ship the item normally to the eBay hub with the label provided.
If you want, you can message the buyer and let them know tracking will update and the carrier will handle delivery notifications.

OP5 months agoThat's what I thought too--and I had responded the same way you suggested, mentioning the tracking, etc. He then claimed other sellers had done it in the past, and that may be true, but...
Thank you! Just wanted to confirm I wasn't being silly to not just do it.

Mentor5 months agoOther sellers may have done that request but the situation can be different. If the sellers is not using the EIS and just shipping themselves then they could do this but of course there is no guaranty that the delivery person will do this. Item shipped through the EIS are repackaged and the original request will be lost.
