Buyer request a return for item not shipped minutes after purchasing
Hello, a buyer recently purchased am item from me for $115. Minutes after buying, the buyer requested a return and stated their item was not shipped. I tried to process the cancelation, but ebay is asking me to put my banking info in to pay the buyer back. Ebay placed the funds for that purchase on hold, so I can't easily refund the item. Is this some type of a scam? The user claims they spoke to ebay and this is what ebay CS told them to do. I can't see that being true. I asked them their cancelation reason and they stated it was in the return. It just says "I want to cancel". The buyer is being somewhat rude and I'm feeling a little uneasy about this. Could they be misusing ebay money back guarantee in some way? Thanks for your help.

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer should have just messaged you to cancel their purchase.
You would still have to provide a payment method to fund the refund. After you refund, and after the payment completes processing, eBay will release the payment to you. No one likes it, but this is how it works for all of us.
