Buyer refuses to return extra, expensive items mistakenly shipped with their order...
I recently sold a computer server to a buyer and before I could ship it out, I was in a car accident... I was stuck in the hospital for a week, and wanted to make sure the item shipped out on time, so the buyer wouldn't be stuck waiting for me to get out of the hospital, so I asked my wife to ship the server for me... Unfortunately, she did not remove the "extra" items that were in use in the server before she sent it out. Several expensive drives, controllers and a video card, plus extra mememory was all supposed to be removed before shipping... to match the description of the item. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I asked the buyer to return *JUST ONE* of the extra items that was in the server, and offered to let him keep all the rest as a gesture.... and I also offered to pay the return shipping for the item I was requesting back. He agreed, and said he was already using the extra items, but would get a replacement so he could ship it back.... after several messages back and forth, asking for status updates, he has finally stopped responding, so it is clear he henver inteneded to return the item I had asked for.
What can i do about this? the extra items effectively *doubled* the value of the server and I really needed the drive/controller I had asked him to return...
Is there really nothing i can do about this???

Mentor10 months agoThere really isn't much you can do as you shipped the item to the buyer voluntarily.
eBay will not assist you in getting your items back from that buyer.
The best you can do is appeal to the buyer to return the items and provide him with a shipping label to return them.
