Buyer refused delivery and opened a Item not as Described
I sold a damaged iPhone on ebay and was very transparent with the description and pictures and listed the item under Not Working/Parts for repair. The buyer made an offer and I accepted it and shipped the item. The buyer then contacted me saying he submitted a cancellation request because he didn't read the description fully, but I had already ship the item so it cancellation request was denied. The buyer then sent me a bunch of harassing message and stuff about why did I ship it yet and that he will return the item and I will pay for the return shipping etc. So following the tracking and UPS made 2 attend to failed attend to deliver the item and now it is being sent back to me. The buyer then opened an Item not as described case and sent pictures of my listing claiming my pictures didn't match my description. I called ebay CS and they told me to accept the return, pay for a return label and let the buyer return the item. If UPS tracking is correct then the item is being return back to me so there is no item for the seller to return, unless the seller returns an empty box. In other case the ebay CS said this case will be closed in my favor. Is the ebay CS right on this. Been on ebay for 17+ years and every year it is getting worse and worse for sellers.

OP2 years agoI read on ebay that as part of seller protection seller is protected if buyer files chargeback since seller accepted the return. Right now I am just waiting for seller to return the item. Seller claims they picked up the item from UPS but UPS tracking show returning to sender.

·2 years agoIf the buyer doesn't provide a tracking number showing it was returned, then the case could time out and close.
If it does, they can open a case with Pay Pal or do a charge back with their credit card, then you'll be refunding.
