buyer refund for broken item
I had an incident where a buyer bought a clock and then claimed it arrived broken.
the item, clock, was light. i triple padded it and put in a box that fit correctly
I received a picture of the item and it looks similar but it might be an item he had that was broken and looking for a free replacement.
Does ebay track buyers that request refunds and is there any way to determine if this buyer has done this type of thing before?

OP3 years agoyes, that might be the smart thing to do, but i have already lost the item, shipping and then additional shipping costs. I just wondered if ebay tracks those who ask for refunds to see who are chronic abusers.

Mentor3 years agoIf buyer opens a return and you get back something not as sent, then yes, you can report the buyer for abuse of the Money Back Guarantee and ebay will make note of it on their account.

Mentor3 years agoAccept the return and do no refund until you get the item back for inspection. Then if a different clock you can report the buyer.
