Buyer received item with correct label but wrong item from ebay international shipping
I sell animal toys. Someone bought a toy from me through the eBay international shipping program, I sent it out, and they received a package with a label for the correct item but there was a motherboard inside for some reason (I don't sell motherboards, so this is not my error). I'm thinking that if eBay has an international shipping facility, they added the sticker to the wrong box and sent the buyer the wrong item. It says the toy I sent is still at a shipment facility and I'm worried it's lost because the wrong thing was added to the wrong package.
Is there any way I can save this or should I just wait and see if it still arrives and refund if it doesn't? I have my settings set not to do international orders because errors happen too often, but eBay just kinda opts you into the international program anyways so I'm pretty frustrated myself and upset for my buyer as well.

Mentor1 year agoIf you shipped this through the Ebay International Shipping (EIS) program, then Ebay will take care of this. DO NOT REFUND, let EIS handle it. Buyer will have to open a case.
In your Shipping Preferences at the top you can turn off EIS, but since they take care of any problems after it gets to the shipping hub it makes it pretty much safe and foolproof.

OP1 year agoDo they have to open a case with the 'Item Not Described' option like the other reply said, or do they select something else? I don't want to be penalized for something that isn't my fault :,)

Mentor1 year agoYes, they open a Return Request for the "wrong" item and explain what happened. EIS will take care of it or refund, if they can't with no penalty to you.

Because eBay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee, I would have the Buyer open an Item Not as Described refund request on eBay sooner rather than later. Once the Buyer starts that process, eBay will take it from there.
