Buyer provided non-existent postal address
Buyer provided an invalid postal address that the USPS could not locate. USPS tracking information clearly shows that the USPS tried to deliver the package, was unable to locate the non-existent address and returned the package postage due.
From Google, I can tell that the buyers name is associated with the provided street address. However, the city and zip code are from a town like ten miles away. This address should not have been verified by eBay as it does not exist.
I don't know if the buyer just don't know how postal addresses work or something more suspicious is going on. Were they hoping the PO would figure out how to deliver it and yet somehow claim it didn't arrive through a technicality?
In 20 years of selling and buying on eBay this is the first time I've run into this situation.
Buyer did not respond to multiple (3) messages from me attempting to resolve the address situation. Instead they opened a complaint claiming the item was never delivered, and never responded to the messages I sent after they opened the dispute. I did not text the phone number that eBay provided me for the buyer as I did not want to go outside of the eBay message system just to protect myself.
This was a new buyer with Zero feedback at the time of this transaction. I refunded the transaction just to wash my hands of this buyer, but I think I still lost money on the return postage that I had to pay.
I wish you could leave at least Neutral feedback for a buyer in these situations. I contacted eBay support with the details, because this buyer is just going to cause more headaches for sellers unless they correct their address or at least someone can verify if they actually exist as a legit buyer.
