buyer problem
I sold an item and shipped it to the buyer. The description was spot on with many pictures. I was unable to test it other than plugging it in for a power check and deliberately did not say it worked. It is an older electronic collectable. The item arrived with a slightly damaged box and the buyer is saying the item does not work.
1. Does ebay shipping have insurance built in? , they mention wanting to check that and I did not apply extra insurance.
2. Does the buyer contact ebay for an insurance claim?
2. Buyer wants to keep it and repair, but I think they want me to cover the repair..... this doesn't sound right

Mentor2 years agoYou can offer a partial refund if you like to cover the repair, otherwise if you want the item back before refunding, accept the return request and get the item back before doing so.
If the box was damage, especially if there is a note from the carrier, you can file a claim with the carrier, but then buyer needs to provide pictures for the claim and have the item and packaging available for inspection. In this case you still will be refunding and may not win a claim. A return before this voids any claim.
