Buyer pays shipping

Question

Sold a product and an additional 149.00 was included on top of selling price for shipping. Product shipped and received no issues there. When we received payout they esstionally took the shipping fee plus additional 149.00 off the selling price. So started at 500 selling price+ 149 for shipping so total was 649+tax it showed the buyer paid. When we received payout it subtracted an additional 149.00 from the 500.

That sounds frustrating.

When "the Buyer pays for shipping", that money is given to you/the seller.

- Then you pay for the shipping label.

- The amount the buyer pays for shipping could be more or less than the actual final shipping cost, it is based on the settings chosen in your listing when you created it.

- The amount you pay for shipping is based on the actual final shipping details you enter before you click to print a label.

Be sure to always enter the correct weight and dimensions when you list your item.

From your gross sales (Price + Shipping, if any + Sales Tax) eBay will deduct

Sales Tax (remitted to the state)

Shipping labels

Final Value Fees FVF

Insertion fees (if any)

Promoted listing fees (if any)

Store Fees (if any)

etc.

Here are some sample numbers which might be helpful:

Example $500 price + $149.00 shipping + $45.00 Sales Tax = $694 Total paid by Buyer

You get $500 + $149 = $649 (eBay handles sales tax)

- $88.66 (Selling fees $694 x.1360 = $88.26 + .40 = $88.66 -- 13.60% is the FVF for most categories)

- $149.00 (Shipping whatever the ACTUAL label costs.. could be $45. or $250.00)

$411.34 Net to you.
