buyer paying for shipping
I printed a shipping label. The buyer should be paying for the shipping. How does this work? I should not be charged for the shipping cost!!!!

Your napkin rings show FREE Shipping to the Buyer so YOU will still have to pay to ship them. Hopefully you included some money int he item cost to cover YOUR shipping costs.
Your dish set shows me that shipping would cost me over $ 25.00 ...
When you create a listing use the Calculated setting, that means Buyers pay YOU money to ship. When you print your labels through eBay YOU get a discount on shipping services (other than Media Mail).
We know the shipping end of selling online can be a challenge for people not used to doing it. We see this a lot here.

OP2 years agoI'm talking about the butter dish that I sold for a $100. I received a notice from USPS they process my request to void the first shipping label on November 28th. Ebay charged me for 2 shipping labels!!!
This is very frustrating for me !!! Some one tells me one thing and now you are telling me another thing!!!

We're responding to what you wrote. You are just now mentioning that you voided a label.
You'll receive your refund for a voided shipping label in about 2-3 weeks. USPS takes that long to ensure that the label isn't used.

Mentor2 years ago@befen1317 What I told you is what your items for sale show to me if I were a Buyer. I was not talking about what you actually sold. As mentioned, some of your listings show FREE shipping meaning the Buyer will NOT pay YOU to ship the item but YOU have to PAY to purchase a shipping label and ship the items.
Look at the screen shot below ... you have a 6 piece set of dishes for $ 275 and over $ 25 shipping cost if I were the Buyer (green arrow) ... then ALL the other items for sale show FREE shipping ... you need to Edit all of those listings and turn FREE shipping OFF or you will be paying a lot in shipping and your customer will not be paying you a dime to ship those items (Orange arrows).
So to answer your "how does this work" question in your original post is that when you create a listing you select the Calculated shipping setting in the shipping details section of the listing tool. THAT MEANS Buyers will see what you charge them to pay you to ship. Your box size and weights have to be accurate so they see the actual price to pay you. Then when you print your label through eBay you get a DISCOUNT off the label price to help offset the fees you pay on the transaction.

OP2 years agoI talked to someone earlier this week and they told me I would receive $9.94 credit for the duplicate shipping charge. I did not see the $ in my bank account yet!!!

Mentor2 years agoYour buyer pays for the shipping in the amount you set up in your listing. You then use those funds to purchase the label to send the item to them.

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer paid YOU for shipping. You pay for the label with the money the buyer paid you.
If you purchase your label through eBay, you can pay for it out of your pending funds.
