Buyer paid with a debit card instead of a credit card and says she does not have the funds.
She says she made a mistake & used the wrong card. If I have her cancel the order & refund her will I be out the money? What should I do? Thank you all.

Your buyer should specifically ask to cancel the order. then you can cancel the sale giving Buyer requested cancellation as the reason and a refund will be issu ed. You will not face any consequences for the cancellation if she does that. open the link below to see how.

Once the order has been cancelled you can relist it as a Private listing for (buyer's username) then the can make the purchase again using their credit card. If they used paypal to make the payment they may have to go to that account and make the CC thier primary payment source. I would wait before relisting the item until they have changed their primary payment source.

OP1 year agoThank you for the reply. My concern is that the funds that will be used for the refund will be my available funds. If her bank declines the payment (she says she does not have the funds in her checking account) will I be out the refund I've given her if the funds are declined? Ebay is still processing her payment.
