No, you are mistaken. The response from "eburtonlab" was correct.
"Ebay debitted the buyer shipping payment from my proceeds"
Yes, eBay did debit the shipping cost from your proceeds, when you purchased the shipping label through eBay.
The amount of that shipping cost was originally paid by your buyer. You, the seller, purchased the shipping label through eBay, using the funds given (paid) by your buyer.
Don't know whether you used US Postal Service (USPS) or FedEx or UPS. And it doesn't matter.
I'm sure you understand that none of those three major carriers will accept any envelope or package for delivery without a shipping label showing that their price had been paid.
And since the package was in your possession, as the eBay seller, you are the one who has to pay the shipping price to that carrier, which you do when you buy the shipping label through eBay.
I am confident that if you take a few minutes and think this process through, it will all make perfect sense.

The buyer pays eBay; eBay pays you.
You pay for a shipping label with the proceeds because you are the one with a package that needs to be shipped.

Those proceeds included the amount the buyer paid for shipping.

Mentor6 months agoeBay never has the buyer directly pay for the shipping. The money the buyers pays for the item AND shipping go to you so you can buy shipping.
