buyer paid for shipping and paid again at USPS near them
Any idea why the buyer who paid shipping on the item would have to pay again at the USPS near them. The item is less than a pound and the total came out to $9.16 when it should've been $4.71. Just to be clear the buyer paid $4.71 for shipping when they purchased the item then $4.45 when the item arrived at the USPS near them. I am not understanding why the buyer had to pay a postage fee. It makes no sense.

The cost is based on the size, weight, distance between you and the buyer, and class of service you used. If you used a Priority flat rate carton, but shipped via another method than Priority flat rate (or shipped in your own box, but shipped at the Priority flat rate), that would also make a difference in the cost.
