Buyer messaged me requesting to cancel an order after buyer won the auction
According to ebay's new guidelines, sellers are now protected from these types of transactions, but if the buyer does not make a formal request to cancel, it seems that they can just default on the payment, and ebay and the seller won't be able to do anything?

Mentor4 months agoOn the contrary, buyers have four full days (96 hours) to pay for their items. If they do not pay within the four full days then on the fifth full day you can cancel their purchase and give them an unpaid item strike. To do this you find the item on your sold item list and from the drop down menu you select cancel purchase. Make sure to use the reason "Buyer has not paid" as this gets your final value fee refunded and the buyer receives an unpaid item strike on their account. This reason option will not show up until four full days have passed so if you do not see it then you are too early to cancel the purchase.
