buyer making false claims of e rchasing from me and threatening my business

Question

An ebayer claims to have purchased an item from me and wanted me to refund of replace. The ebayer threatened to impact my business for not complying with their demands, insisting they purchased the item from me. I sent them a picture of said item which is still listed in my items for sale. How do I report this scammer? Keep in mind, they never bought anything from me so I can't report one of my buyers (since they never purchased from me, but claim they did.)

Since the item is not on your sold list eBay will do nothing if they try to report you since they will see you did not sell anything to them. Just contact customer service and explain the situation and follow their advise.

You can contact customer service using this link and ask for a call back: eBay Customer Service Customer service is open from 5am to 9pm Pacific Time. Unfortunately you will still need to answer the AI bot questions in order to get help. eBay removed our way to get around the questions so you may need to ask for “Agent” several times before the system gets the message and lets you ask for the call back. Please be aware that there are several things that can prevent you from receiving the return call. Some phone service providers have spam filters that will block eBay calls. Also, this can happen if you are using a VOIP phone number from your Internet provider.
