Buyer making false accusations
I sold a smartphone for $400 that I originally bought on Amazon, but the buyer wants to return it and they say it's counterfeit, to my knowledge it was an authentic phone, I would need a professional opinion to know the legitimacy of the claim, but the buyer wants to return it, so I've been trying to work out a compromise, and for a minute the buyer said they would take a partial refund of $70 and keep the phone, but $70 is too low, the amount they bought it for was $400, so I asked if we could agree to $100, and that's when they got hostile and started bad mouthing the phone and accusing me of knowing it was counterfeit, which is far from the truth? I tried contacting an agent, but I can't get past that virtual assistant no matter what I tried? The buyer was reasonable and friendly up until I asked for a compromise of $100, and then suddenly the conversation goes south? I tried reporting him and that didn't work out either, what is going on with eBay, I've never had an issue like this before?

Ebay has a 30-day Money Back Guarantee. If the phone was delivered 30 days or less ago, the Buyer can open an Item Not as Described refund request on eBay. Even if that is not true. Once they open that request, you would only have three business days to respond with either a prepaid return label or a refund. If you don't respond on time, eBay can step in and force the refund from your funds.
